It only makes sense to compare the M5 to the S8, they're not very far off competition wise, both upper crust sedans w/ V-10's capable of running w/ sports cars(M5 at least), and lastly, there's no direct competitor from BMW to the S8 from the current generation 7 series. |
IMO they are far away from competitors. The M5 is a four door racer capabale of being used on a track while the A8 is just a fast very luxurious long distance cruiser. In fact the S8 is more of a 760i sport competitor.
