I feel as though I've been conditioned over the years to think of the Blue Angels as patriotic do-gooders. If I stop to think about it, I realize that bleeding-edge stunts they pull are the arial equivalent of a monster-truck show. |
I understand where you are coming from. I know that some would jump on you for such a comment and that comes from ignorance rather than intelligence. I see them as stunt coordinators/great pilots/patriotic airmen, however, I do admit that what they do is dangeours. I think the Blue Angels have had about 28 deaths. Nevertheless, for the Navy, and the military as a whole, the Blue Angels are a marketing practice in order to get young little boys to go to the military. I don't know if you know, but Top Gun raised the Navy's recruitment right after by I think 5% or 15%.
I think it is dangerous what they do, but since they are the best of the best, I think they are the ones that feel they can do it? Who knows.
