I just returned from Italy and I've never seen so many R-Classes down there in my life, both from German and Italian owners. As much as I don't like the design, I find the R-Class a very appealing vehicle because of the space, comfort and safety. It is indeed a fine family tourer for those long distance trips. Most of the R-Classes I saw were R280 CDI's and R320 CDI's, occassionally an R350 and most were on the Autostrada or at hotel resorts or camping grounds.

The design could have been better, but I am really beginning to like this car based on its friendliness towards families and vacationing.
