I think you guys are misunderstanding each other.

Porsche doesn't need to radically alter the 911, it will sell regardless of how it looks, because its a 911. The 996 sold like crazy despite all the changes in traditional elements like air-cooled engines, round headlamps and stretched bodies. Nobody can deny that the 997 is a bad looking vehicle, or that its a bad performing car despite stretched dimensions and technology-loaded frame.
