Audi is working on a 7 speed S-Tronic/DSG gearbox to be used in the new MLP platform (meaning longitudinally mounted engine and Torsen C) for the last 2-3 years. A preview of that gearbox was shown in Roadjet:
The Audi Roadjet Concept combines the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) with twin clutch in conjunction with a longitudinally installed engine. DSG combines the advantages of a manual gearbox - with 7-speeds in this latest version - with the qualities of a modern automatic transmission providing smooth acceleration without interruptions to the flow of power from the engine, while maintaining fuel efficiency.

S-Tronic will replace Tiptronic in all future models.
