yes they are serious. I read this in Sportauto myself. There are two tire options for M6, Continental and Pirelli. In this comparison the M6 had the Pirelli tires and they offer better grip than the Continental tires.
Hopefully in the Sportautos Supertest the M6 will be tested with both Continteal and Pirelli tires, that way we can see the difference in performance.
