[Why, oh why, did Alonso leave Renault ?!]


Before Alonso, in 2001, the team scored only 10 points, only one more than Jaguar.
The Benetton-Renault, back then, F1 team, efectively was only better than Prost, Arrows and Minardi.

But even Alonso in his crapy Minardi could sometimes challenge the BRs, witch
got him the test driver post in the 2002 now rebranded Renault F1 team.

By comparison McLaren's 2006 season looks very rosy, and McLaren's history tells us that they can leap from 5th or 4th place to chapmions next year.

Still, I'd rather see them fail thus Alonso going either back to Renault or to BMW next to Kubica.
