SPY PHOTOS: BMW 1 Series Facelift
2007 Geneva debut

BMW’s smallest model, the Series 1, has been on the market since 2004. Now the Bavarian car maker is preparing a first restyling of the Series 1, due for launch at next spring’s Geneva Motor Show.

At the same time the Series 1 will come on the market as an additional three door variant. Finally – in autumn 2007 – BMW will extend the model range even with a coupe, the matching convertible of which is to follow even later in 2008.

The pictures are showing prototypes of the new three-door as well as the four door, both featuring the restyling.

There are changes at the front end including bumpers, grille and headlights, as well as taillights and bumper at the rear end.

Do I see CELIS LED light tubes on the new rear lights?

they're there, under the X5-like white stripe. Love it

God, I can't believe the 1er has been around for so long. Guess it's true.

Looks like a pretty marginal facelift. CELIS LED is probably a given. BMW must be getting a bulk discount by now, virtually every model has 'em now, save the current E60 and E90.

E90 has them already, and E60 will get them too when it's given a facelift...
Concerning the 1er: the rear lights are like a copy of the X5 rear lights...

Actually no. The E90 has some sort of faux CELIS LED setup, that mocks the look but lacks the actual lighting elements. There's definitely no LEDs to be found in those tail-lights. E92 has them, and it's glaringly ovbious if you see the two cars side by side.

CELIS LED is coming to facelifted 1er & later 2er.

Also 5er is going LED with a facelift.

Expect facelifted 1er to look similar to this:
