That last picture of the back is already looking much much better than that blurry spy shot. It's still not too much to go on, but at least I can see the lines better now (and 3rd brake light)

Seriously speaking, the 1er coupe and the 3er coupe are totally different cars with different target groups. We can safely say that the 1er coupe is a compact coupe and has more "youth appeal", attracting more younger drivers, while the E92 is a full scale coupe and has a much wider target group. I don't think that a possible buyer would only look on the performance figures, but would consider the size of the car, too. I can't see why, for the same money sb would choose a faster and smaller 1er, while i would go for the slower and bigger 3er and vice versa. About the 135i vs 335i, i don't think that the first will cannibalize the sales of the second, but i also could be wrong. Just my 0.02$.
