Fantastic what a car.

Awesome.

Now all we need is a M2 350hp 6 cil atmo wide wheel arches LSD and first off all lightweight. And we have a real M car again.

Where's the CS1 influence ??? Wasn't that car supposed to be different from the 5d&3d 1 series ?

Motosport cars not only needs to be quick but also feel like race cars that means lightweight and agile. A big car like the new m3 and m5 and m6 are not agile they are luxery autobahn racers. So that s why i hope for an agile and fast M2 that remembers me to the E30 M3 EVO cars. A 92 M3 doesn t remember me at all too those E30 DTM times.

That would also be the case for Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Co.
Both the Cayman and Z4M are fat pigs, with only Lotus making light cars these days.

Same can happen here. And who knows in which direction they will go with two new board members (Draeger & Arendt).

I'm also eager to see what will it be. Internally everybody talks about "2er coupe" & "2er cabrio". Yet they also talked about M4 - when referring to what was really a Z4 M, though.

There is a strong CS1 influence. Check it out. Since CS1 is a cabrio there will be more similarities with 2er cabrio than coupe (no B-pillar, flat boot lid).
Coupe & cabrio will differ from 1er hatch in sleeker front & rear appearance (different rearlights & bumpers + different front bumper & fascia around headlights & grille). Also a silhouette is much sleeker due sedan-ish shape.

But mind that there be as-much-as-possible parts sharing between the models in the 1er / 2er familiy line to make this car as profitable as possible. Also in 3er coupe / cabrio case the situation was different: CLK was different than C, G coupe different than G sedan, new different A5 coming, Lexus having appetites to enter the segment etc. So 4er / 3er coupe & cabrio was meant to stand out of 3er family to be more exclusive - like their competition is. Yet this is not the case in 1er / 2er situation which has no competition yet.

New M3 , M5 are faster and handles better than the predecessors and they are still fun to drive. I dont understand those complaining, I rather be driving a new M than an old one, the old one have done theirs.
Adevo I think you are little too obsessed with the weight old M versus new M. If you want a car with low weight then buy yourself a Lotus Exige or a Superseven or something.
There isnt any sportcarmaker today there are like the old days.

ok thats thru.

But i have rather an M2 coupe than e92 M3.

Power you get used too so damn fast. So i rather buy a bmw that gives me more fun/agility.

I sold my one year old e46 m3 CS for an 130i Msport with Limited slip diff. The 130i is a for ME a more entertainer than the bigger and heavier e46 m3.

So i can t hardly wait for an M2
